FAQ

Check out some of these frequently asked questions and answers we receive from customers. Contact us if you have any additional questions and we would be happy to answer!

  • Do you offer free inspections?
Yes! Most roofing contractors provide free estimates. RRoofing, LLC offers free, no obligation, roof estimates to customers who have any roof issues that need to be addressed. Contact us to schedule your free inspection!
  • How do I know if the roof on my home has problems?
There are different ways to spot roof problems. You may notice water stains on your ceilings or walls if you have a leak in your roof. You may also see missing or broken shingles on your roof, especially after a storm or high winds. If you notice any of these signs, contact us for a damage assessment and free estimate.
  • How do I check my roof for hail damage?
If your home is hit by hail during a storm, your roof could end up sustaining hail damage, such as broken shingles. After the storm has ended, you’ll want to check the roof, siding, and windows of your home to look for signs of damage. If you feel damage may have occurred, please contact us to assess the damage so we can begin making temporary repairs necessary to keep your home watertight until your insurance company is contacted.
  • If my roof leaks, does it need to be replaced?"
In most cases, if your roof is just leaking in one small area, it will probably just require a roof repair. If your roof is leaking in several different places, it is more likely that your roof is showing signs of failure and will need to be replaced. The best way to determine if your roof needs to be repaired or replaced is to contact us and let us provide a complete roof assessment.
  • How long should my roof system last?
With the weather elements in the Central Texas region, a typical roof should last 15-20 years. There are several factors that will determine how many years you will get out of your roof. This depends on the type of roof you install on your home. Certain materials, such as tile and metal, are capable of lasting for 50 years or more. Other materials, including composition shingles, will deteriorate over time, lasting approximately 15-20 years. Keep in mind that factors such as severe weather can shorten the lifespan of your roof!
  • How long does it take to install a new roof?
If you need a new roof installed, the amount of time this process takes can vary. We will complete most residential roofs in one day. The larger the home and the steeper the roof, the longer the project will take. Commercial roofing and industrial roof installation times will vary based on the size of the project.
  • Are tile roofs better than shingle roofs?
This really comes down to preference, and in some cases, your HOA rules! While tile roofing materials have traditionally been longer-lasting, newer asphalt shingle products have proven to be nearly as durable, as well as often easier to repair. Tile and asphalt shingle have differences in price, weight, longevity, and care requirements – so we definitely recommend talking to a licensed Venice roofing contractor about which is best for you. Still, you can expect a quality asphalt shingle roof to last for 15-20 years or more.
  • Should I get a new roof before I sell my home?
If your roof is at the end of its useful life, you will likely have a much easier time selling if the roof is replaced. Home buyers may not be able to obtain a mortgage on a home with an expired roof, and the expense of putting on a roof may scare them away.If you know it is going to be an issue but cannot afford to put the new roof on without selling the home first, speak to your agent about ways to negotiate the price of the roof into the sale of the home.
  • What if my insurance deductable is too high?
Insurance companies are out to make money just like any other business. Allowing one of our trained staff to negotiate on your behalf can help you get the most out of your insurance claim. Don’t forget to ask your sales representative about our advertising incentive and referral incentive programs which can save, or even earn you money.
  • Is there a benefit from using 30 year shingles?
While 30 year shingles will not always last 30 years, they should definitely be considered if you’re replacing your roofing system. In general, 30 year architectural shingles last longer and have a higher wind rating than standard 20 year shingles. Our experience over the years has also shown that this low cost upgrade can also provide greater curb appeal and increase a property’s resale value. Please ask your sales representative for pricing on the 30 year options.
